The Sims Resource and others of their ilk are an abomination and a blight on the gaming community. They are not concerned with the consumer, but with profits. That said, they do not pay income taxes on these profits to any country. They will ban a subscriber for complaining about poor quality or poor customer service, and refuse to refund their money.

They openly admit that they use the inferior free items to lure users into buying the pay ites. For example, you get recolors for free, but you can't use them until you buy the mesh. This is just plain wrong. I don't understand why people insist on giving TSR and the rest their hard-earned money when they can get superior items (and people are willing to share the pay items) for free? Ignorance, willful or otherwise is the only explanation, I think.

Unfortunately I'm one of the people who has gotten sucked into TSR as a paysite as I find that certain downloads are of more quality that of some free ones (though I'm not saying all free ones are not of good quality, some more than what a lot of paysites offer).

I do agree however with what Nanda is saying, I think that's entirely true, but then again is it wrong to pay to get rid of those pesky ads on someone's site? I mean they do need some sort of funds to keep the site going.

I hate those paysites. They CHOOSE to make those things and they spend their spare time on it because it's their hobby. I don't think they should ask money for it because it's not legal and because those people clearly just want to get money off of it, and they don't deserve it. I'm glad they set up that site that provides those downloads for free.
