To many surfers there has been, to their aggravation, a lot of paysites regarding custom content for The Sims 2 spurring up over time. Now it evidently turns out that having a paysite or even a subscriptionbased website containing TS2 items is not really permitted and not entirely legal.

As I’m sure I’ve mentioned on more then one occasion at least somewhere, I work as customer support for a Scandinavian Webhotellfirm. I have the pleasure of working from home at regular hours. One of the many things I seem to receive is emails from various people or groups asking for sponsorship in regards of webhosting and/or domain registration.
Usually the emails come from small Counterstrike playing groups who just want a small website to keep their score and offers to keep our link on all the pages. Allow me to enlighten you in the value of sponsoring such a website; None.
The only kind of signal it gives is that a) you’re really cheap and/or b) we’re easy to scam free hosting out of.
Especially when our cheapest hosting cost about 2.5 US Dollars per YEAR. If you can’t even cough up that for hosting, we’re not going to be good friends. Read the rest of this entry »

Firstly, this is not a tutorial on how to write your own Content Management System (CMS).. if I were to write a tutorial on creating a basic CMS it’d be featured on tutorialtastic. This is just a list of things to consider when you decide to embark on the adventure of writing your own CMS.
Security
I cannot emphasise enough how serious it is that you consider security. In fact, don’t just consider security — write it on the back of both hands, your forehead and all over post-it notes stuck to the sides of your monitor/screen. Bookmark as many PHP security sites that you can find, and ask as many knowledgeable people about it that you can.
